Hurricane In Cape Verde- A Wake Up Call

Hello Friends of the World.

Did you hear the news of the hurricane that affected Cape Verde last week? It was a historic Hurricane Fred that lashed out of the Atlantic to ravage a small island off the coast of West Africa. I watched it on the news and imagined what could happen if the harsh winds had veered off into the coast of Lagos. That's a disaster we daily pray to God not to witness.

Hurricane Fred was historic in that it would be the first hurricane to be seen on the island since 1892. Yes, the beautiful people of Cape Verde had lived in relative tranquility till the rise in sea level and melting of the arctic poles had brought her devastation down her shores. For those still in doubt about CLIMATE CHANGE and its deleterious effect on planet Earth, Hurricane Fred is your wake up call. Believe it or not, the green planet is being endangered by the effect of global warming and the little we can contribute to wound back the thread of decay would be great at the end.

Let's conserve energy and preserve the Earth. Technology is there to alleviate poverty, let's embrace it and use energy efficiently in Africa. I am excited that Nigerian Energy Support Program (NESP) will be hosting capacity building for ISO 50001's  integration into Nigerian energy policy in a few days and Zeus Energy Limited is very proud to associate with this great initiative. We warmly welcome the team from GFA who will be conducting the capacity building in partnership with GIZ to Nigeria and wish them a successful outing.

Nigeria is on the way to being fully energy efficient. Join the progressive train.
