BETWEEN POWER AND ENERGY

My blog post for today is to enlighten you about the mystery of Physics called Power and Energy. These two terms, which we hear everyday yet know next to nothing about, are, as I learnt, the "spirit" behind a well lighted city so in curiosity I asked my brother who is an Electrical Electronics Engineer to enlighten me so I can share with you.

According to him, Power is the storehouse of Energy. Perplexed, I said please explain. He continued that Power is like a static force (of electricity) which is capable of being productive when it is released as Energy. It is like a sea of electricity which is quickened when it flows in channels of waters to its point of use. In other words, Power is static while energy is dynamic. It is why Power is measured in Kilowatts (Kw) while Energy is measured in kilowatthour (Kwh), that is how much power is used within a stated period. They complement each other and are dependent on one another.Clarified now? I hope so.

So the translation to me is simply that for Africa to have energy to industrialize and modernize, Power must be provided by the stakeholders of development in Africa- governments, industrialists, international development partners and power scientists. Expedient measures and holistic Power agenda must be devised and vigourously pursued by African nations, complemented by massive investments in alternative/renewable energy. It is not enough to build power plants and hydro stations all over the continent, African leaders must be smart to harvest the immeasurable energy latent in the Sahara Sun that shines all year round.

As a new government kicks in by May 29 in Nigeria, it is the hope of ZEUS ENERGY LIMITED that the incoming government will toe the path of intellectual nations and invest in renewable energy as its being done all over advanced world. The path to sustainable development is in adopting green measures and in giving back to Nature.

RET is the way to go, Nigeria!!! I say again, let's go there.

LET THERE BE LIGHT

According to Genesis 1:14-19, on the fourth day God created the Sun and the Moon- two great lights to watch over the earth and give energy. In addition however, God gave embedded benefits inside the great ball of fire called the Sun and it was until recently that scientists were able to tap into this immense bank of energy to generate electricity- through Renewable Energy Technology (RET).
Renewable Energy Technology (RET), of which Solar PV System is one, is the new way to generate clean electricity to power homes, offices, churches, mosques, clinics and other small scale enterprises with minimal energy requirements. This system, which is simple to install and maintain, will make its owner dispense with the need to buy fuel for generators or pay electricity charges ever again because solar energy is free.
It will also reduce in tonnes CO2 that generators and thermal energy stations could otherwise have released to the atmosphere, adding to the toxic build up that today endangers the planet. In one sentence, Solar PV System is the best and cleanest way to generate electricity in a world with climate change threat. It is the best model for building Virtual Power Plant (VPP), coupled with energy management initiatives.

In this line, ZEUS ENERGY LIMITED just executed a Solar PV installation for a client at Magodo GRA, in Lagos State. The Solar PV System is intended to power the client’s SME outfit with appliances like two chest freezers, TV sets, lighting, fans, and phone charging hub connected to its system and it is designed to supply 24 hours electricity.
At its commissioning, our client was delighted for the energy solutions it proffered to him. He was especially happy to know that Solar PV System works, being a former unbeliever in RET and its immense valuable opportunities. Like he said, “It feels good to use God’s free sunlight energy”.
What I am sure must excite him beyond measure as a SME owner in Nigeria is the amount of money he would save by adopting green energy instead of investing money on generators. Just imagine not having to worry about things like fuel availability or scarcity or electricity bills while profit pours in like a deluge on your business. Imagine the prodigious amount of money you will save. That’s the way a smart entrepreneur who understands the economics of energy should think.
We urge you to take advantage of this great initiative and call on us to design a unique RET system for your business. True, the initial capital outlay for the project is comparatively high but the payback period makes it a worthwhile investment. I mean you will use the system for the next 25 years!
Asides, we might even devise a payment plan to fit your budget, just to make you enjoy Nature’s illimitable power.

Green is the way to go. Let’s go there!
